Bhubaneswar : In its attempt to spread awareness on the impact that diabetes has on the family and promote the role of the family in diabetes management, care, prevention and education, AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar today organised a Walkathon in association with Silver Age Foundation for Elders at BJB Nagar, Bhubaneswar. This year’s theme for the World Diabetes Day is Diabetes concerns every family.
The Walkathon followed by a Basic Health Check up Camp at Buxi Jagabandhu Nagar Peoples Association, BJB Nagar, Bhubaneswar witnessed the participation of around 200 Senior Citizens who joined in for the Health Awareness talk delivered by Dr. Ritesh Agarwal, Diabetics Specialist, AMRI Hospitals and also underwent basic Health checkups.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Pratap Jena, Information & Public Relation, Health, Family Welfare, Law, Govt of Odisha graced the occasion and praised the initiative of AMRI Hospitals & Silver Age Foundation for arranging the Walkathon and Health Check-up Camp for making people aware of Diabetes care. “Govt. Of Odisha is also giving special focus by providing special Health Care facilities to the people, like providing free Dialysis facilities to the Kidney disease patients and planning to provide free health care treatments in all Govt Hospitals.”, said Minister Shri Jena.
